Attention is the
ability to actively process specific information in the environment while
tuning out other details. Attention is limited in terms of both capacity and
duration, so it is important to have ways to effectively manage the attentional
resources we have available to make sense of the world. The ability to focus
attention is critical for professionals in high-stakes, information-oriented
fields.
This CPE webinar introduces core principles of how
attention works in the mind and the brain, addressing common misconceptions
about attention and suggesting ways to develop and manage attention
effectively.
Join author and
research psychologist, Dr. Michelle Miller, in tackling these questions that
affect all professionals needing to maximize focus. Dr. Miller will draw on her
recent book Remembering and Forgetting in the Age of Technology to discuss what
attention is, the brain mechanisms involved in attention, the limitations of
attention, and the unexpected ways in which attention affects nearly everything
in our minds do on daily life.
Following are the major questions that are answered in this CPD course:
In this highly interactive CPE/CPD Personality Development webinar, participants will consider the role attention plays in their own lives and what gets in the way as we attempt to master and direct our attention.

Great webinar! It's the second one I've participated in with Dr. Miller. Her recommendations for actions that can be implemented immediately are spot-on. I'm walking away with a better understanding of attention and focus, and small actions I can take to improve my focus and attention.
