Course Description

Course Description

The goal for every taxpayer is to “pay your fair share”. When things are going great, it’s easy to assume that no money falls off the table. The reality is that most companies that sell goods and services in or to Canada are unknowingly paying the incorrect amount of Canadian sales tax.

Why does overpayment happen?

This CPD Webinar will highlight the most common errors made in relation to Canadian sales tax that could lead to significant refunds owed by Canadian tax authorities.

The major topics covered in this Online CPD Course are:

  • What are the different types of Canadian Sales Tax?
  • Possible errors made in relation to Sales tax.
  • Tips for avoiding overpayment of sales tax.
  • How one can recover the overpayments?
  • Practices to be placed to prevent overpayment in future

This was a terrific introductory webinar and the hosts did a fantastic job presenting the material. I would have loved to see more depth to the discussion (time did not allow for this in this webinar). Some discussion on Place of Supply rules would have been helpful as well as discussing more exceptions to some of the rules that were discussed.
