A change order has long been the biggest dispute between construction contractors and their clients. Filing change orders in the construction industry will cost additional time and money and oftentimes can delay the timeline of a process on an already extensive project.

Change orders are identified as written contracts between the owner and the client. These contracts cover modifications and alterations to any sort of contract that already exists between the client and establish any sort of new basis of payment, time adjustments, etc. that are affected by the changes in the contract.

Change orders are one of the most common forms of financial abuse in construction projects – other than purchasing. At times the change orders can even beat the normally expected costs. But how much of that cost is legit?

She is the Founding President of the New York/New Jersey Chapter of the National Association of Construction Auditors. She has audited and led audit teams for small construction project as well as multi billion dollar projects.
