Currently, the IRS only requires practitioners who represent taxpayers before the IRS to follow Circular 230 due to the Loving case. Even though tax representation creates a jurisdiction hook, tax representatives can still run afoul for tax preparation issues under Circular 230. The Online Webinar on ethics covers the basics of IRS Office Professional Responsibility, how it functions, handles cases and interacts with tax practitioners. This live CE webinar will also cover, jurisdictional issues of who is subject to Circular 230 and the sanction power of OPR. This CE webinar for EAs will also cover what to do in a situation where OPR reaches out to you as a practitioner for possible violations of Circular 230.
With possible legislation looming that would require all tax return preparers to follow Circular 230, there is no better time to get a refresher on the requirements of Circular 230. This course will provide all the details a tax practitioner needs in order to say on the right side of OPR and reduce the chance of facing any type of sanction or fine.

An excellent presentation regarding the broad area of Ethics and IRS Circular 230. Could have projected some more about the nuts and bolts means by which we need to deal with protecting our client's computer data as well as what are the requirements for digital signatures by both the client(s) and the preparing firm.

This was a great presentation on a topic that can be complex, dull, and difficult to stay focused during. Nick did an excellent job interweaving stories and examples to keep the presentation engaging and insightful while reviewing an extremely important topic.
