Effective writing has four
characteristics: Clarity, conciseness, attention to detail, and readability.
This Online CPE webinar covers two of these important topics in writing that
you can benefit from.
Sprawling sentences can feel
overwhelming. Many times it makes it harder for the reader to quickly identify
the main point of what you’re trying to communicate. At times, it is also
boring. Concise writing helps grab and hold the reader’s attention. It also
makes the writing more memorable and impactful for the reader. Moreover, it has
been observed that in general, clients and colleagues prefer brevity over
verbosity.
Although paying attention to
details seems like an obvious skill, but in technical writing it is tricky.
Using fewer words in legal and professional writing is not easy as it sounds. With
this skill acquired, you ensure maintaining efficiency, increasing your
productivity, and reducing the chances of errors, making your job easier. This
is the reason attention to detail is a key skill.
With conciseness and attention to
detail skills mastered, your communication will be easy and to the point for
your readers, and you will gain the trust on your competency.
