Course Description

Preventing fraud is always challenging, as the fraudsters always seem to be one step ahead. With the COVID-19 disruptions, the organizations are required to come up with their ‘A’ game. Though companies institute elaborate controls to prevent or detect fraud, the sea of change in the wake of the pandemic is really difficult to deal with. Fraud risk thrives in periods of rapid change. The larger the change, the larger the risk. For all that companies do, the risk of fraud, and its potentially large impact, never go away.

Experts have seen the motivations of rationalization shift dramatically because of the pandemic environment.  Every person alive rationalizes their own behavior. Potential fraudsters rationalize why committing fraud is right for them. These new ‘incentives’ must be dealt with a significant risk of failure with strengthened systems and higher penalties.

The CPE webinar deals with the following key topics to deal with the subject:

  • The rationalization of fraudsters before COVID
  • The new mindset of rationalization found during COVID
  • The change in the workplace environment and its effects on employees
  • Methods to foster connection among all employees, even those working remotely
  • Practice methods for inspiring inclusion as a team

In this CPE webinar for CPA, we explore the shift we are seeing and understand new ways to foster connection and raise morale in your workforce.
