Course Description

This session is designed for business owners and those other professionals (accountants and Human Resources professionals) who assist businesses. When an employee asks for an accommodation, sometimes the business may need to take steps to explore whether it is feasible to provide such an accommodation.  Attendees will learn how the duty to “reasonably accommodate” focuses on disabilities and religious beliefs.  Examples will include 2021 problems employers are facing involving COVID issues

Learning Objectives

  • Attendees will learn how to handle employee requests for accommodations due to COVID-related concerns, as well as non-COVID issues, such as grooming policies and dress codes.
  • Understand the risks associated with employees with a disability asking for accommodations, and how to best handle.
  • How is a duty to accommodate a religion different than a disability or pregnancy?
