myCPE is an approved member of NASBA'S National Registry of CPE Sponsors (Sponsor id: 143597). Yellow Book continuing education requirements are governed by the U.S. Government Accountability Office (GAO).
The Yellow Book is used by auditors of government entities, entities that receive government awards, and other audit organizations performing Yellow Book audits. It outlines the requirements for audit reports, professional qualifications for auditors, and audit organization quality control. Auditors of federal, state, and local government programs use these standards to perform their audits and produce their reports.
Auditors performing work under GAGAS, including planning, directing, performing field work, or reporting on an audit or attestation engagement under GAGAS, need to maintain their professional competence through continuing professional education (CPE). Therefore, each auditor performing work under GAGAS should complete at least 80 hours of CPE every 2 years that directly enhance the auditor’s professional proficiency to perform audits or attestation engagements. At least 24 of the 80 hours of CPE should be in subjects directly related to government auditing, the government environment, or the specific or unique environment in which the audited entity operates out of which at least 20 hours should be completed in any 1 year of the 2-year period. Auditors performing work under GAGAS should complete their 56 hours of remaining CPE from the subjects which directly enhances the auditor’s professional expertise to conduct engagements.
Complete your 80-hour Yellow Book requirement with a discounted price of my-CPE self-study Yellow Book Package. This 80 hours package for Yellow Book auditors satisfies the 24 hours requirements in the subjects directly related to government auditing and its environment, or the specific or unique environment in which the audited entity operates. IF you only need to comply with 24 hours requirement, then myCPE also provides you 24 hours Yellow Book package.
