CFA Institute offers Professional Learning (PL) to its members to help them cultivate their curiosity and advance in their careers.

CFA Institute requires its members to record at least 15 credits annually to stay current with changing practices and evolving industry demands. Many of our programs in Live and Self-Study are approved for continuing education for CIPM professionals. You can visit the myCPE website for more webinars related to CIPM Professionals.

There is no minimum Ethics requirement for CIPM designation holders.

Renewal of Certificate in Investment Performance Measurement (CIPM) is on or before June 30 every year.

The reporting period is from July 1 to June 30 each year for a CIPM Professional.

There are no minimum PL requirements in a particular subject area.

Following are the examples are given for qualifying activities that are accepted by CFA Institute:-

  • Self-Study
  • Employer-based
  • Third-party Offerings
  • Live events (e.g., conferences, seminars, forums, lectures)
  • Readings (e.g., journal articles, textbooks)
  • Level I, II, or III of the CFA Program exams (40 PL credits, including 2 SER credits, for each exam level passed)
  • CIPM Level I or Level II exam (20 PL credits for each exam passed)
  • Internet-based courses, webinars, and podcasts

The license can be renewed by payment of a renewal fee of $ 275 for the CFA Institute. Society dues vary by society. Annual dues will be pro-rated for those joining CFA Institute and a member society for the first time.

A Certificate in Investment Performance Measurement (CIPM) can complete 100% of the total required CE credits hours via self-study courses. i.e., CIPMs can complete all 15 hours via self-study courses from NASBA-approved CE sponsors as myCPE is approved by NASBA.

CIPM designation holders are required to complete a minimum of 15 PL credits annually, CFA Institute encourages CIPM holders to participate in the voluntary program for members. All PL credits earned are applied to both the required minimum for CIPM designation holders and the recommended minimum for members. To make this more convenient for CIPM designation holders, they are also eligible to carry up to a maximum of 20 credits over to the next cycle.

myCPE provides courses that are approved for continuing education credits by NASBA. Based on the guidelines issued by these boards regarding Continuing Education Requirements, we recommend the programs/ webinars to be suitable for NASBA specified in each webinar. However, it will be the responsibility of each attendee to ensure that they are eligible for the Continuing Education Credits based on their occupation/ job profile, knowledge requirements as well as guidelines laid down by their regulatory board before registering for the webinars.
