CERTIFIED INTERNATIONAL WEALTH MANAGER (CIWM) CE REQUIREMENT OVERVIEW

CE Requirements
12 continuing education hours per calendar year.
License Renewal Period
Renew their designation by their anniversary date (from the date the designation was originally granted).
CE Reporting Cycle
The reporting period is from January 1st to December 31st each year. 
Compliance Requirement
3 hours of compliance learning credits in the area of wealth management.
Carry-Over Credits
Canadian Securities Institute (CSI) does not allow the Certified International Wealth Manager (CIWM) to carry excess CE credits over from one reporting cycle to the next.

What are the CE Requirements for Certified International Wealth Manager (CIWM)?

All CIWMs need to complete 12 hours of CE during a calendar year out of which; 

  • 9 hours of professional development learning credits in the area of wealth management and,
  • 3 hours of compliance learning credits in the area of wealth management.

The qualifying learning activities for Certified International Wealth Manager (CIWM) provided by myCPE are

It is the responsibility of the CIWM designation holder to maintain a record of the CE activity. You must retain supporting documents to confirm the completion of CE credits. 

Here at myCPE, we provide certification of completion at the end of each webinar for a Certified International Wealth Manager (CIWM).

  • The cost of the annual renewal fee is $325 for CSI members.
  • Once you hold more than two CSI certifications, the cost to renew your 2nd, 3rd, and 4th CSI credentials in good standing is reduced to $50, $100, and $150 respectively for each credential.

Failure to comply with CE requirements will be removed from the CIWM Directory and will no longer be able to access any benefits.

Continuing Education for the CIWM designation runs on a calendar-year basis. That means if you were granted your CIWM in Y1, you have until the end of the next full calendar year (Y1+1) to fulfill your CE requirements.

No, the short video (Nano learning) method is not approved for the CE requirements of a Certified International Wealth Manager (CIWM).

myCPE provides courses that are approved for continuing education credits by NASBA. Based on the guidelines issued by these boards regarding Continuing Education Requirements, we recommend the programs/ webinars be suitable for CIWM designation holders. However, it will be the responsibility of each attendee to ensure that they are eligible for the Continuing Education Credits based on their occupation/ job profile, knowledge requirements as well as guidelines laid down by their regulatory board before registering for the webinars.
