Throughout history, the S&P 500 has been a litmus test for how Wall Street weathers the storm during times of war. From World War II to the Gulf War, and more recently, conflicts in the Middle East, the S&P has seen some gnarly dips as uncertainty rocks the market. When global tensions flare, the index often takes a nosedive, mirroring widespread fear and economic disruption. However, here’s the catch—the S&P has shown serious resilience, bouncing back at varying speeds depending on the conflict’s duration and its impact. Some recoveries have been quick, while others took their sweet time. The reason we wanted to share this? To show that, while the market may wobble during times of chaos, it often finds a way back to stability, teaching us that even in the roughest waters, there’s a chance for recovery.
