Atlanta-based accounting firm, Aprio, has acquired Massachusetts financial services specialist Sandler & Company PC to bolster its financial services capabilities and footprint in the Greater Boston Area. The move is part of Aprio's five-year growth plan within the financial services sector, integrating Sandler & Company's niche precision with its national resources and tech-driven solutions.
Atlanta-based Aprio has announced the acquisition of Sandler & Company PC, a Massachusetts firm specializing in financial services clients. Effective July 1, the move strengthens Aprio’s financial services footprint, particularly in the Greater Boston area, and adds seasoned expertise across audit, tax, and advisory.
The deal brings Managing Partner Don Sandler and nine professionals to Aprio, doubling the firm’s financial services capabilities. Sandler’s team has deep experience serving hedge funds, private equity, broker-dealers, real estate funds, and RIAs. Their services include tax structuring, surprise custody exams, and quarterly reviews—critical for clients navigating SEC oversight and complex fund reporting.
“Joining Aprio allows us to scale what we do best,” said Sandler, now a partner at Aprio. CEO Richard Kopelman noted that the acquisition is part of a five-year plan to grow Aprio’s financial services segment through targeted M&A, lateral hiring, and organic expansion. With this move, Aprio strengthens its position in a highly specialized market by integrating Sandler’s boutique precision with Aprio’s national resources and technology-driven solutions.
