Arlington-based Ascend has expanded in California and Georgia through strategic acquisitions of accounting firms. Both acquisitions, San Diego-based LevitZacks acquiring Leinenweber & Associates and Atlanta-based Wilson Lewis purchasing Santi & Associates, were done to improve the firms' services, technology and long-term growth prospects, with all the brands set to continue operating as usual.
