Doeren Mayhew Acquires Benoit & Associates to Strengthen West Michigan Presence

Michigan-based accounting firm Doeren Mayhew has acquired Benoit & Associates CPAs, a move set to deepen Doeren Mayhew’s tax practice and expand its reach in West Michigan. The deal will add broader resources and expertise to serve their clients' needs and further strengthen Doeren Mayhew's position as a regional leader in the accounting field.
Troy, Mich.-based IPA 100 firm Doeren Mayhew (FY23 net revenue of $137.4 million) has acquired Benoit & Associates CPAs, a Grand Rapids-based accounting firm, effective June 1. The move deepens Doeren Mayhew’s tax practice and aligns with its strategy to expand in West Michigan.
“For years, we’ve respected Benoit & Associates for their professionalism and values, which mirror our own,” said Joshua Garvey, MP of Doeren Mayhew’s Grand Rapids office. “It made sense to formalize our relationship and strengthen our position as a regional leader.”
Founded over 30 years ago, Benoit & Associates has served individuals and closely held businesses with tax, accounting, valuation, and advisory services. The firm’s longstanding reputation for helping clients meet compliance requirements and long-term goals made it a strategic fit.
“Joining Doeren Mayhew is a natural step forward,” said Maurice Benoit, managing director of Benoit & Associates. “We share the same client-first mindset and now have access to broader resources and expertise to better serve those relationships.”
As part of the deal, Benoit has joined Doeren Mayhew as a principal, and his team has transitioned to Doeren Mayhew’s downtown Grand Rapids office at 56 César E. Chávez Ave. SW.
