KEB Expands in Central Illinois with Acquisition of Fleming Tawfall

Springfield-based accounting and advisory firm Kerber Eck & Braeckel LLP (KEB) has expanded its presence in Litchfield, Illinois, through the acquisition of local firm Fleming Tawfall. The move, which increases the workforce at KEB's Litchfield office to 24 and introduces a broader range of services, is expected to enhance customer service, reinforce succession planning resources, and support balanced development between KEB's local and city offices.
Kerber Eck & Braeckel LLP (KEB), a Springfield, Illinois-based accounting and advisory firm, expanded its presence in Litchfield through the acquisition of local firm Fleming Tawfall. With FY2023 net revenue of $33.6 million, this strategic move strengthens KEB’s footprint in central Illinois and supports the firm’s long-term growth initiatives.
The acquisition brings 11 professionals—including one partner—from Fleming Tawfall to KEB, expanding the Litchfield office to a total of 24 team members. The enhanced office now includes a robust mix of accountants, consultants, and administrative staff, positioning it as a central hub for tax, consulting, and accounting services in the region.
Jereme Zook, partner at KEB, welcomed the addition, noting that the integration aligns with the firm’s core values and emphasizes client service. The combination is expected to improve service delivery through strengthened leadership and expanded capabilities at the local level.
For clients, the acquisition delivers improved accessibility and a broader range of services, including specialized offerings such as wealth management, estate and trust planning, and enhanced farm tax consulting. The move also reinforces succession planning resources and supports balanced growth between KEB’s local and metro-area offices.
Zook emphasized that the merger is more than a business expansion—it's the unification of two like-minded teams dedicated to client success and fostering a positive workplace culture. With the combined expertise and shared values, KEB’s Litchfield office is poised for continued growth and expanded opportunities across the region.
