Modera Wealth Management is expanding its in-house tax services with the acquisition of New Jersey-based Ferrentino & Associates, a firm specializing in tax planning and consulting for high-net-worth individuals and small businesses. Founder and CEO of Ferrentino & Associates, Gary Ferrentino, will become the director of tax services at Modera, integrating his team with the existing tax group and enhancing Modera’s unified planning strategy across investments, taxes, and estate strategies.
Modera Wealth Management has announced a transaction with New Jersey-based Ferrentino & Associates, expanding its in-house tax practice and strengthening its national platform. Ferrentino & Associates, led by founder and CEO Gary Ferrentino, specializes in tax planning, preparation, and consulting for high-net-worth individuals, small business owners, estates, and trusts.
As part of the deal, Ferrentino will become director of tax services at Modera, overseeing the firm’s tax practice and guiding strategy. His team will integrate with Modera’s existing tax group in Asheville, N.C., forming a nationwide team of tax professionals.
Ferrentino emphasized the importance of collaboration between investment advisors and accountants in serving client needs, noting that joining Modera will create opportunities for both his team and future service expansion, including estate administration. Modera CEO Tom Orecchio highlighted that the transaction builds on a 25-year professional relationship with Ferrentino and reinforces the firm’s commitment to unified planning across investments, taxes, and estate strategies.
The combination reflects Modera’s strategy of delivering fully integrated fiduciary wealth management by aligning investment and tax expertise under one platform.
