Rehmann to Merge with Kmetz, Elwell, Graham & Associates in Florida Expansion

Top 40 accounting and advisory firm Rehmann has announced its expansion in Florida through a merger with Kmetz, Elwell, Graham & Associates (KEGA), a Vero Beach-based CPA firm. The combination will take effect on June 1, further strengthening Rehmann’s presence in the state’s Treasure Coast market.

As part of the merger, KEGA will adopt the Rehmann name and continue operating from its current location, located near Rehmann’s existing Vero Beach office. Plans are underway to combine the two offices in the future to enhance operational efficiency and provide greater value to clients.

Founded in 1977, KEGA offers a comprehensive suite of tax, accounting, and audit services, with a reputation for client dedication and personalized support. Rehmann CEO Stacie Kwaiser emphasized the strong cultural alignment between the two firms. “Just like Rehmann, KEGA believes in providing exceptional support to its clients and opportunities for its associates,” said Kwaiser. “With values like integrity and respect, community, and stewardship, KEGA fits perfectly with Rehmann’s people-first culture.”

KEGA’s full team, including its management group, will remain in place following the merger, except for Senior Partner Michael Kmetz, who is retiring after a 46-year career. “While I’m sorry to be missing this exciting transition, I know that KEGA and our clients will be in great hands,” said Kmetz. “The combination creates upward opportunities for everyone.”

Brian Elwell, KEGA’s managing partner, noted that joining a larger firm was necessary to meet evolving client needs and industry demands. “The industry faces challenges, especially for a small, local firm. We found we needed the resources of a larger group. Rehmann offers the service lines that clients are looking for, such as international tax, technology, wealth management, and cybersecurity.”

With this merger, Rehmann enhances its footprint in Florida and expands its service offerings, training resources, and advisory depth, further supporting clients and associates through an integrated, growth-oriented platform.
