HBK CPAs & Consultants, a prominent firm based in Canfield, Ohio, has announced the acquisition of Computol, a technology firm located in the Toledo area. This strategic move is set to enhance HBK's technology advisory platform, Vertilocity, by integrating Computol's team of 13 professionals. The acquisition not only adds a new office in Ohio but also strengthens the firm's capabilities in technology strategy, cybersecurity, managed IT, digital transformation, and advisory services tailored for middle-market organizations.
Tom Angelo, CEO of HBK, emphasized the importance of integrated advisory services in the evolving mid-market landscape. He stated, "The mid-market is being reshaped by technology, and the firms that are going to be most valuable to those companies are the ones whose advisors operate as one integrated team rather than a collection of separate vendors." This acquisition aligns with HBK's vision of providing comprehensive technology and advisory solutions across its extensive network.
Bruce Nelson, managing director of Vertilocity, highlighted the strategic choice of Computol, noting their technical expertise and strong client relationships. "The technical depth, the discipline of their delivery, and the strength of their client relationships are exactly what we look for," Nelson remarked. The merger is expected to create one of the most capable mid-market technology advisory practices in the region.
Clients of both firms will continue to work with their existing teams while benefiting from expanded resources and expertise available through the broader HBK platform, which operates from 20 offices nationwide. Jeff Hamons, president of Computol, expressed confidence in the merger, stating, "Joining Vertilocity is the right next step for that work and for the clients who depend on us."
