San Jose-based accounting firm, Abbott Stringham & Lynch (ASL), has appointed Deepa Bhat as its new Managing Partner effective from January 1. Bhat, who joined ASL in 2004 and quickly advanced through the firm, replaces Carol Wagner, and becomes the third woman to hold this position and the seventh since the firm's founding in 1977, marking ASL's continued commitment to leadership development.
New Leadership Appointment
Abbott Stringham & Lynch (ASL), based in San Jose, Calif., with a net revenue of $29.6 million for FY22, has announced that Deepa Bhat has been elected Managing Partner, effective January 1.
Bhat succeeds Carol Wagner, who has served in the role since 2020. As ASL’s seventh Managing Partner since the firm's founding in 1977, Bhat becomes the third woman to hold this position. Wagner will continue to contribute to the firm as an Assurance Principal.
Leadership Remarks
Wagner expressed confidence in Bhat’s leadership:
“I am pleased to welcome Deepa Bhat as Managing Partner. Her leadership, client focus, and ability to drive the success of the firm will only continue to advance ASL,” said Wagner.
Deepa Bhat’s Career and Expertise
Bhat joined ASL in 2004 as an Assurance Staff Accountant and quickly advanced through the firm, most recently serving as the Partner-in-Charge (PIC) of the Assurance Group. Over her career, she has worked with privately held clients across diverse industries, including technology, international business, and construction. Bhat is skilled in helping clients navigate complex and unique accounting issues, both domestically and internationally.
In addition to her work with clients, Bhat leads ASL’s Construction Group and the Employee Benefit Plan Audit Practice.
Bhat’s Vision for the Firm
“I am excited to take on this new role as Managing Partner and continue driving the firm’s culture of engagement and innovation,” said Bhat. “I look forward to providing training and leadership development for our staff, ultimately contributing to the financial well-being of our clients.”
Bhat’s promotion underscores ASL’s ongoing commitment to leadership development and client-focused service.
Until next time…
