Jana Cinnamon Named Chair of CPAFMA

Jana Cinnamon, the COO and Partner at Abdo, has been appointed as the Chair of the CPA Firm Management Association (CPAFMA), a renowned national organization supporting leadership in operations of CPA firms. After a decade at Abdo, Cinnamon's successful management and strategic insight, especially as the first non-CPA partner, will be leveraged to foster a shared community of growth and support within the accounting profession.

In January 2024, Jana Cinnamon, Chief Operating Officer and Partner at Abdo, was appointed Chair of the CPA Firm Management Association (CPAFMA), a national organization dedicated to supporting leaders in CPA firm operations. Established 40 years ago, CPAFMA aims to facilitate communication among accounting firm managers and leverage collective experiences in the evolving profession.

Cinnamon's tenure at Abdo spans over a decade, during which she has been instrumental in managing key operational areas and demonstrating a comprehensive approach to leadership. Her strategic insight and dedication to maintaining a positive culture have significantly contributed to the firm's overall growth and success. Notably, she became Abdo's first non-CPA partner in 2022.

In her new role as Chair of CPAFMA, Cinnamon is committed to fostering a community of mutual growth and support within the accounting profession. She expressed her enthusiasm, stating, "I am honored to become the Chair of the CPAFMA. I look forward to working with our Board and helping to cultivate a community of mutual growth and support in the accounting profession."

Cinnamon holds a master's degree from the University of Minnesota Carlson School of Management in Human Resources and Industrial Relations. Her leadership and dedication continue to influence both Abdo and the broader accounting community.
