Mark Koziel has been appointed as the new CEO of the Association of International Certified Professional Accountants (AICPA) and CIMA, effective January 2025, succeeding Barry Melancon who will retire at the end of 2024. Koziel, currently the president and CEO of Allinial Global, has earlier served the AICPA in various leadership roles and is committed to advancing the position of the accounting profession and serving the public interest.

In an important leadership transition, the Association of International Certified Professional Accountants (the Association) has appointed Mark Koziel as its new CEO, effective January 2025. He will succeed Barry Melancon, who is set to retire at the end of 2024.
Koziel's Background and Experience
Extensive Leadership Experience in Accounting
Mark Koziel currently serves as president and CEO of Allinial Global, an association that boasts $6 billion in collective revenue and 268 member firms globally. His tenure at Allinial began in 2020, following a 14-year career at the AICPA, where he held various leadership roles, including executive vice president of Firm Services. His experience has equipped him with a profound understanding of the accounting and finance profession.
