Educationally, Garner holds dual Bachelor of Arts degrees in Broadcast Communication and American Government, both with honors, from Elizabethtown College, where she graduated summa cum laude in 1999. She resides in Carlisle, Pennsylvania, with her son, Gavin, and enjoys outdoor activities such as hiking, canoeing, and teaching swing dance. An avid traveler, she has explored destinations including Chiang Mai, Thailand; Crete, Greece; Belize; Spain; and the Galapagos Islands in Ecuador.
