Amy McDonald, CPA, has been promoted to Vice President at KSM Location Advisors, a firm specializing in maximizing state and local incentives and assisting businesses with location decisions. In her new role, Amy will continue to drive strategic initiatives encompassing client management and business development. Her expertise in conducting comprehensive comparative research on state and local communities, along with her proficiency in quantitative analysis, enables her to identify tailored incentives opportunities for companies. Amy's negotiation skills with government entities further enhance her ability to secure monetary incentives, ensuring clients receive optimal value. Her dedication to guiding projects from inception to completion, always with the client's best interests in mind, underscores her commitment to excellence.
Professional Background
Before joining KSM Location Advisors, Amy gained experience in both public accounting and corporate environments. She began her career in the general tax practice at Grant Thornton in Minneapolis. Later, she transitioned to Imation Corp., a spinoff of 3M, where she managed federal income tax compliance, state tax compliance and controversy, quarterly provisions, property tax compliance and controversy, and real estate valuation appeals.
Education and Community Involvement
Amy received a Bachelor of Arts degree in accounting and finance from Bethel University. She is a member of the Indiana CPA Society and has contributed her expertise as a board member for Brightlane Learning (formerly School on Wheels Indianapolis) and the Domestic Violence Network. Amy currently holds the role of public affairs committee chair for the Indiana chapter of NAIOP, the Commercial Real Estate Development Association.
