Ascend, a support partner for regional accounting firms, has welcomed Prasad Sristi as its Chief AI Officer and William Kelly as General Counsel. The appointments, seen as an investment in leadership amid industry challenges, aim to enhance technological offerings for accountants and build a robust legal and compliance structure for Ascend's partner firms.
Ascend, an Arlington, Virginia-based partner for regional accounting firms supported by Alpine Investors, has added Prasad Sristi as Chief AI Officer and William (Bill) Kelly as General Counsel. Sristi, previously Chief Product and Technology Officer at Bench Accounting, expressed that there's never been a better time to create impactful software products, positioning Ascend to leverage AI to enhance accountants' skills.
Kelly, a prominent legal expert from Mazars USA, will develop the legal, quality, and compliance infrastructure for Ascend’s partner firms. He remarked on the opportunity to build a big-firm legal department's resources within the independent small firm environment.
CEO David Wurtzbacher highlighted that the appointments reflect Ascend's investment in leadership to navigate industry challenges like data protection and quality maintenance while innovating with new technologies. “Prasad and Bill are industry veterans of the highest caliber... Our response to that conundrum is to bring on these two leaders in tandem,” Wurtzbacher stated.
