Bueti will focus on identifying high-impact deals, implementing effective integration strategies, and maintaining Baker Tilly's collaborative culture, building on his extensive experience at J.S. Held LLC and Needham & Company.
Chicago-based Baker Tilly, a firm with a FY24 net revenue of $1.72 billion, has announced the appointment of Carmelo Bueti as the new Head of Corporate Development, effective November 4. Bueti will be at the forefront of advancing Baker Tilly's growth through mergers and acquisitions (M&A), corporate partnerships, and strategic relationships.
A Strategic Leader for Baker Tilly’s Growth
Reporting directly to CEO Jeff Ferro and collaborating with Chief Growth Officer Fred Massanova, Bueti will lead efforts to identify and execute high-impact transactions and integration strategies. “Carmelo’s track record in corporate development and his strategic mindset are exactly what we need to drive impactful growth,” said Ferro. “His leadership will ensure we pursue opportunities that enhance our capabilities while staying true to the collaborative culture that sets Baker Tilly apart.”
Emphasis on Integration and Team Culture
Bueti, who brings extensive M&A experience, emphasized the importance of people in the acquisition process. "Our people are our greatest asset," he stated. "Acquisitions aren’t just about business growth – they’re about welcoming new talent and ensuring they feel at home. Successfully integrating teams into our culture is essential to creating value for everyone involved.”
Before joining Baker Tilly, Bueti was the Senior Vice President of Corporate Development at J.S. Held LLC, where he successfully led numerous acquisitions and post-close integration strategies that fueled sustainable growth. He also has significant experience from his tenure at Needham & Company, where he executed a wide range of transactions across various industries.
A Focus on Strategic Growth and Thoughtful Integration
Fred Massanova, Chief Growth Officer at Baker Tilly, praised Bueti's expertise in both M&A and integration, noting that his focus on aligning new teams with the firm’s culture and vision will be a valuable asset. “Carmelo’s leadership in driving both strategic growth and thoughtful integration will help us expand our impact while maintaining the strong culture and values we have cultivated at Baker Tilly,” said Massanova.
Looking Ahead
With Bueti at the helm of corporate development, Baker Tilly is poised to continue its growth trajectory, enhancing its capabilities through strategic transactions and ensuring successful integrations that uphold its core values and collaborative culture.
Until next time…
