BDO USA has announced the appointment of Jim Maza as its new Chief Information Officer (CIO), succeeding Russ Ahlers, who has served in the role since 2015. Maza brings over 20 years of experience in leading large technology organizations and spearheading enterprise-wide transformation programs. His previous role was as CIO at a major insurance brokerage and risk management firm, where he managed an IT team of approximately 250 staff.
Russ Ahlers, who will step down from his position on September 1, 2026, has been instrumental in expanding BDO USA's core infrastructure to support its growth. Under his leadership, the company has integrated new technology tools and systems, enhancing its operations and market position. Mark Ellenbogen, BDO's Chief Operating Officer, praised Ahlers for his steady leadership and pivotal role in strengthening the firm's technology capabilities.
During the transition period, Ahlers and Maza will collaborate to ensure the continuity of key technology projects and align the IT function with BDO's evolving needs. Maza expressed his gratitude for Ahlers' leadership and the strong technology foundation he has built, stating his eagerness to advance secure innovation and support BDO's continued growth.
