New York firm CohnReznick has announced that Jason Burian will assume the role of South/West Regional Managing Partner after George Klenovich retires in January 2025. Burian, who has expanded the Chicago office's revenue and client base significantly, is expected to bring his expertise to optimize the firm's operations over the South/West region and continue its path of growth and excellence.

New York-based firm CohnReznick, with FY24 net revenue of $1.05 billion, has revealed that Jason Burian will step into the role of South/West Regional Managing Partner following the retirement of George Klenovich on January 31, 2025. Burian, who currently holds the position of Chicago Office Managing Partner (OMP), will take on expanded responsibilities overseeing the South/West region's operations.

Leadership Legacy and Growth under George Klenovich

Klenovich, who joined CohnReznick in 2009, has held several influential roles, including Chicago OMP and as a member of the firm’s executive board. His tenure as South/West Regional MP has been marked by substantial growth, with the region expanding to encompass 10 offices and more than 700 employees. His leadership spearheaded the firm's entry into new markets such as Dallas and Denver, contributing significantly to CohnReznick’s footprint in the South/West region. Reflecting on his career, Klenovich expressed gratitude, saying, “It has been a great privilege to be part of CohnReznick for 15 years and to help it grow geographically, financially, and as a preferred workplace in our industry.”

Jason Burian's Journey and Vision for the South/West Region

Burian, a CohnReznick veteran who began as a senior associate in 2004, was elected partner in 2014 and has led the Chicago office since 2017. During his tenure as Chicago OMP, he doubled the office’s revenue by broadening its client base and introducing services across diverse industries. Burian’s focus on operational excellence led to transformative changes within the office’s processes and culture, which he facilitated with a team of partners. Now a member of CohnReznick’s executive board, Burian is set to bring his expertise to his new role overseeing the South/West region. "As CohnReznick continues to diversify our industries and services, there are so many ways we can support businesses with operations and interests in this very large region of the country," Burian shared. "George has been a wonderful mentor and friend, and I am honoured that he played a key role in the decision to offer me this outstanding opportunity.”

CEO David Kessler's Remarks on the Leadership Transition

CohnReznick CEO David Kessler acknowledged Klenovich’s impact and expressed excitement for Burian's new role, saying, “I’ve been honoured to work closely with George over the past 15 years. He has had a wonderful career, is a great strategic thinker, and his wisdom and business acumen have helped propel us forward in our South/West Region and as a firm. I’m excited for Jason to take this next step in his career and look forward to all he will accomplish.”

This leadership transition reinforces CohnReznick's commitment to growth and excellence as the firm continues to provide industry-leading advisory, tax, and assurance services across an expanding national footprint.

Until next time…
