CohnReznick LLP has appointed James Nielsen as managing director for its valuation advisory services practice, focusing on complex financial instruments for private equity, private credit, and structured product valuations. Nielsen's two decades of experience in private capital markets and structured finance is expected to bolster the company's delivery of significant valuation services in the fast-evolving sector.
CohnReznick LLP has named James Nielsen as managing director in its valuation advisory services practice, further expanding the firm’s capabilities in serving private capital markets and structured finance clients. Based in New York, Nielsen will focus on complex financial instruments and lead a team dedicated to private equity, private credit, and structured product valuations.
Nielsen brings more than 20 years of experience advising private equity sponsors, credit managers, hedge funds, banks, and insurers. His expertise includes portfolio mark-to-market, senior and subordinated debt, convertible instruments, non-performing loans, and structured products such as CLOs, ABS, and MBS. He has also advised on valuations related to M&A transactions, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance.
Brad Hirsch, partner and leader of the valuation advisory services practice, noted that Nielsen’s experience in private capital markets and structured finance will enhance CohnReznick’s ability to deliver high-impact valuation services and support the firm’s continued growth in this rapidly evolving sector.
