EY Appoints Martin Fiore as New Americas Vice-Chair of Tax

Ernst & Young LLP (EY) has announced the appointment of Martin Fiore as the new Americas vice-chair of tax, effective July 1. Fiore will succeed Kevin Flynn, who has led the tax business since 2022 and will retire at the end of the fiscal year.
Currently serving as EY Americas deputy vice-chair – tax, Fiore will be based in New York and will oversee tax strategy and client services for a group of over 18,000 professionals across Canada, the United States, North, Central, and South America, Israel, and the Caribbean. In addition to his new role, Fiore will join the US Management Committee, the Americas Operating Executive, and the Global Practice Group. He steps into the leadership position at a time of pivotal policy reform within the tax landscape.
Kevin Flynn praised Fiore’s selection, highlighting his operational excellence and innovative approach. “Martin’s innovative approach to issues facing our industry and operational excellence within Tax makes him an ideal candidate for this vital role,” Flynn stated. “He maintains a vigilant watch on market trends to inform our clients about landscape changes and opportunities on how to best navigate them.”
Fiore brings 31 years of experience with EY US to his new position. Throughout his career, he has guided both the firm and its clients through significant geopolitical and technological changes impacting the tax sector, including the adoption of artificial intelligence. He served seven years on the Americas Inclusiveness Advisory Council and was the executive sponsor of the technology committee that introduced EY to intelligent automation. In 2021, he became an award-winning author with the release of his book, Humanity Reimagined.
Expressing his enthusiasm for the new role, Fiore stated, “I’m honored and excited to be chosen to lead our Tax practice. And I feel privileged to inherit the exceptional work of my predecessor, Kevin Flynn. I will continue to embrace the technological changes needed to transform tax across compliance, reporting, and law while keeping our people at the center.”
Fiore’s appointment signals EY’s ongoing commitment to innovation, operational excellence, and a people-centered approach as the firm navigates a rapidly evolving tax environment.
