Grant Thornton LLP has appointed Shona O'Hea as head of asset management, Tyler Jones as head of energy, and Scott McGurl as head of healthcare. The restructuring of the leadership aims to provide specialized and future-focused solutions to clients, amidst an increasingly complex global business environment.
Grant Thornton LLP has announced key leadership appointments within its multinational industry practice, naming new heads for its asset management, energy, and healthcare sectors. The firm’s latest leadership realignment underscores its focus on bringing specialized, future-oriented solutions to clients amid an increasingly complex global business environment.
Shona O’Hea, based in Dublin, Ireland, has been named head of asset management. Tyler Jones, based in Dallas, assumes the role of head of energy, while Scott McGurl, based in Tampa, Florida, has been named head of healthcare. All three bring decades of specialized experience and a shared commitment to delivering high-quality service to Grant Thornton’s international client base.
“These appointments come at a time when today’s unique business climate is impacting all industries in a way that requires leaders to be future-focused and adaptable,” said Martin Shanahan, head of industry for Grant Thornton Advisors LLC. “Shona, Tyler, and Scott all have a track record of bringing fresh perspectives and innovative solutions to the firm’s international client base, while seamlessly delivering high-quality services. They are the right leaders to help our clients thrive across these important industry sectors.”
O’Hea, a partner in advisory services, leads Grant Thornton’s international asset management efforts. In addition to her new role, she serves as global head of asset management for the Grant Thornton International Ltd network. With over 20 years of experience, O’Hea specializes in global financial functions and operational solutions for asset and wealth managers as well as asset servicers.
Jones brings two decades of public accounting experience to his new role. His background includes leading audit engagements for public and private energy clients, with significant expertise in U.S. SEC registrants. His knowledge spans IPOs, SEC filings, and regulatory response processes, positioning him to guide energy clients through a rapidly evolving landscape.
McGurl, a business consulting principal, assumes leadership of Grant Thornton’s healthcare practice with nearly 30 years of experience. His work in healthcare and life sciences includes defining strategic growth agendas, executing transformative roadmaps, and improving operations. McGurl’s focus areas include enhancing care access, increasing operating margins, and optimizing workforce effectiveness.
With FY23 net revenue of $2.4 billion, Grant Thornton continues to enhance its leadership capabilities, reinforcing its industry-driven approach to client service across key economic sectors.
