The announcement marks a significant leadership milestone both for Stonesifer and for the broader Pennsylvania accounting profession.
The installation ceremony was held on May 6 at PICPA’s 128th annual meeting in Philadelphia. Stonesifer accepted the role before a gathering of peers, industry leaders, and members from across the state. As the incoming president, he will help shape the strategic direction during a time of transformation for the accounting profession.
“I am deeply honored to serve as PICPA president and look forward to working with our talented membership to address the evolving challenges and opportunities facing our profession,” Stonesifer stated during the ceremony.
With more than 30 years of experience in the profession, 17 of them in senior leadership roles at Herbein-Stonesifer, Stonesifer brings seasoned insight to the position. Since becoming CEO of Herbein in 2019, he has led the firm through a period of notable growth, including expanding its international presence. His long-standing involvement with PICPA includes service on the Board of Directors and the Executive Committee.
Jennifer Cryder, CEO of PICPA, expressed strong confidence in Stonesifer’s leadership. “We are lucky to have Dave as a member of our leadership team. He understands today’s challenges, is widely recognized as a leader who gets things done, and tirelessly fights for CPAs’ seat at the table.”
As president, Stonesifer’s priorities will include developing the future pipeline of accounting professionals and enhancing member value. He will also serve as a representative of PICPA at various industry events and in dialogues with regulatory organizations, reinforcing the association’s voice within the broader professional landscape.
