Herbein Appoints James Michalak as COO

CPA advisory firm, Herbein + Company, Inc., has announced the appointment of James Michalak as its Chief Operating Officer (COO). Michalak, who has held numerous leadership roles in his two-decade tenure at Herbein, will oversee the firm's production practice groups, drive efficiency, productivity, and aim for sustained growth in the newly established position.

Reading, Pa.-based Herbein + Company, Inc., a prominent CPA advisory firm, has announced the appointment of James Michalak as Chief Operating Officer (COO). Michalak, a seasoned leader with over two decades at Herbein, assumes this newly established role with a mandate to streamline firm operations in alignment with Herbein’s long-term strategic vision.

Throughout his tenure since joining the firm in 2002, Michalak has held numerous leadership roles, most recently serving as Chief Information & Digital Officer, a member of the executive committee, and the Greater Pittsburgh Partner-in-Charge. In his new role as COO, Michalak will oversee the firm’s production practice groups, focusing on driving efficiency, productivity, and sustained growth.

CEO David Stonesifer praised Michalak’s appointment, emphasizing the strategic impact he has had within the firm. “Jim brings tremendous operational, financial, and client experience to this role, and his appointment underscores the depth and breadth of talent within our partnership. Since joining Herbein, Jim has been instrumental in bringing teams together to create value for clients, and we are excited to see him do this at a firmwide level to help drive our success.”
