KPMG has appointed David Fine as its national managing principal for legal and regulatory operations, where he will work alongside Matt Miner to oversee legal and regulatory engagements. Fine, who has been with KPMG for six years in various roles, will focus on strengthening cross-firm collaboration and managing risk, aiming to foster the firm's culture of excellence, integrity, and innovation.
KPMG LLP has appointed David Fine as its national managing principal for legal and regulatory. In this role, Fine will work closely with Matt Miner, general counsel and vice chair of legal, risk management, and compliance, to oversee the firm’s legal and regulatory engagements and serve as a liaison with the Management Committee.
Fine joined KPMG nearly six years ago as deputy general counsel for litigation and regulatory investigations. Since then, he has held roles including interim general counsel, principal-in-charge of legal, regulatory & compliance, and special counsel to the general counsel and vice chair.
Prior to joining KPMG, Fine was a partner at King & Spalding LLP and Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe LLP, where he focused on complex litigation and regulatory issues representing major accounting firms. He began his legal career as an associate at Arnold & Porter LLP and served as a judicial law clerk for Judge Richard Nygaard of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit.
Miner noted that Fine’s new role is designed to strengthen cross-firm collaboration and help manage risk while supporting growth. Fine emphasized his commitment to advancing KPMG’s culture of excellence, integrity, and innovation, underscoring the firm’s role in the capital markets.
