Lohman Company Founder Jay Lohman Retires After 25 Years

The founder and president of Mesa, Ariz.-based accounting firm, Lohman Company, Jay Lohman, has announced his retirement. Industry leaders highlighted Lohman's significant influence throughout his 20-year career in the company and credited him with guiding the firm to become one of Phoenix's top CPA firms, recognized for its strong commitment to client relationships and service.

Mesa, Ariz.-based accounting and business advisory firm Lohman Company announced the retirement of its founder and president, Jay Lohman, after over 20 years of dedication to building and leading the firm. Jay Lohman’s retirement coincides with Lohman Company’s 25th anniversary, marking a milestone in the firm’s journey since its founding in 2000.

Reflecting on his retirement, Lohman said, “Our firm is a testament to the dedicated people who have built it, and upon reflecting on my retirement, I’m reminded of the company’s humble beginnings and the milestones we’ve shared along the way.”

Kyle Kennedy, Phoenix president and Arizona banking director at Bell Bank, expressed his admiration, saying, “It is with immense pride and admiration that we celebrate Jay’s retirement. Jay Lohman, who entered the accounting field with a natural skill for numbers and a passion for client service, founded Lohman Company after 30 years in the industry. As the firm’s president, he was a central figure in the Executive Partner Group and the Senior Management Group, shaping the company's direction. Under his leadership, Lohman Company grew into one of the Phoenix area’s top CPA firms, recognized annually as a Top 25 CPA firm by The Phoenix Business Journal since 2003. His industry influence was further acknowledged in 2008 when he received AZ Business Magazine’s Centers of Influence Award, an honor given to professionals who make a significant impact on Arizona businesses.

Lohman’s journey was driven by a mentor who introduced him to the CPA profession when he was just 19. Inspired by this guidance, he became a mentor himself, eager to support and encourage others entering the field.
