McConnell & Jones has named William A. Taylor Jr. as the new managing partner, taking over from Ira Wayne McConnell who will become chairman after a planned two-year leadership transition. Taylor, currently a tax partner with previous experience as a founder and leader of Taylor CPA & Associates, is expected to strengthen the firm's foundation and invest in people and technology.
McConnell & Jones has appointed William A. Taylor Jr. as managing partner following a structured two-year leadership transition, reinforcing its focus on continuity and long-term stability.
Taylor will assume the role at the conclusion of the transition period, when current managing partner Ira Wayne McConnell will move into the role of chairman. The planned transition is designed to maintain strategic momentum while ensuring leadership continuity.
Currently a tax partner, Taylor brings prior experience as founder and leader of Taylor CPA & Associates, which he built and managed for 25 years. His background in firm leadership, combined with technical expertise and a strong client service focus, positioned him for the role.
During the transition, Taylor will expand his responsibilities across strategic growth, talent development and operational infrastructure, with a focus on strengthening the firm’s foundation and investing in people and technology.
The appointment reflects McConnell & Jones’ broader commitment to succession planning and sustained growth in an evolving accounting and advisory landscape.
