Santa Rosa, September 25, 2024 — Seattle-based accounting, consulting, and wealth management firm Moss Adams (FY23 net revenue of $1.26 billion) has strengthened its assurance practice by appointing Michelle Muth Ausburn and Porter Loud as new partners. Both professionals are returning to Moss Adams, bringing extensive expertise to support the firm’s clients across various sectors. 

Eric Miles, Moss Adams’ chairman and CEO, expressed his enthusiasm about their return: “We’re excited to have both Michelle and Porter back with us. Michelle’s extensive experience working with companies in food, wine, and agribusiness will be a valuable asset for our clients. Michelle Muth Ausburn 

Returning to Moss Adams with more than 20 years of experience, Ausburn has a strong background in advising food, wine, and agribusiness clients on financial accounting and reporting. Her expertise spans GAAP compliance, complex accounting issues, and internal control evaluations. During her previous nine-year tenure at Moss Adams, she advanced to assurance senior manager before departing. Reflecting on her return, Ausburn noted, “I’m excited to return to Moss Adams. I’m looking forward to supporting and partnering with clients in food, wine, and agribusiness to help them achieve their business goals.” 

Porter Loud 

Loud also rejoins the firm, bringing insights from his recent role as a professional accounting fellow in the Office of the Chief Accountant at the SEC. There, he led the team focused on crypto assets, played a key role in developing SEC staff accounting positions for digital asset transactions, and advised registrants on technical accounting issues. Loud, who began his career at Moss Adams and last held the position of professional practice group senior manager, shared his enthusiasm: “I’m thrilled to be able to partner with the firm again to help keep us and our clients compliant with new and updated regulations and rules.” 

With these additions, Moss Adams reinforces its commitment to providing high-level advisory and compliance services, ensuring clients remain ahead of evolving industry regulations.
