PKF O’Connor Davies Hires Donald Melody as Partner

PKF O’Connor Davies, a Harrison, N.Y.-based firm, has hired Donald Melody, an experienced figure in audits, inspections, and consulting, as a new partner. Enhancing their public company and financial services practice areas, Melody's background includes senior roles at the SEC and PCAOB, offering invaluable insights into the regulatory landscape, which will be crucial for the company's clients and team.

October 1, 2024 – Harrison, N.Y.-based PKF O’Connor Davies, a firm with FY23 net revenue of $377.5 million, has welcomed Donald (Don) Melody as a new partner, enhancing its public company and financial services practice areas. Melody brings nearly 25 years of experience in auditing, inspections, and consulting, with a background that includes senior roles as Branch Chief with the SEC and Inspections Leader for the PCAOB.

“Don’s career spans the auditing spectrum, and his multifaceted background has equipped him with an invaluable and in-depth understanding of the complexities involved with ensuring compliance for organizations of all types,” said Clare Cella, Managing Partner at PKF O’Connor Davies. “In particular, his time with the SEC and PCAOB has afforded him an insider’s perspective into the evolving regulatory landscape that will benefit our clients and our team immensely.”

In his recent role, Melody led a global advisory firm’s broker-dealer audit advisory service, supporting PCAOB-registered audit firms during PCAOB inspections and enforcement actions. He has also provided Quality Management and Quality Control advisory services and managed audits for broker-dealers, hedge funds, and other financial entities in the Midwest.

“My work in both the regulatory and advisory spaces has provided me with a unique viewpoint into all aspects of the audit process,” Melody said. “I’m eager to join PKF O’Connor Davies and leverage the insights I’ve gained to help clients achieve their compliance goals.”

Melody is a graduate of St. Xavier University, where he earned his Bachelor of Science in Accounting, magna cum laude. He holds credentials as a Certified Public Accountant and Certified Fraud Examiner, further solidifying his expertise as he steps into his new role with PKF O’Connor Davies.
