PwC Names Sebastian di Paola as Global Board Chair

Sebastian di Paola has been elected to chair the Global Governance Board of PricewaterhouseCoopers International Limited (PwCIL), responsible for overseeing the Network Leadership Team and enforcing governance standards. Di Paola's extensive experience with the company and his background as a UK Chartered Accountant and lawyer position him well to guide the firm's global strategy during a time of substantial changes in professional services.
PwC has elected Sebastian di Paola to chair the Global Governance Board of PricewaterhouseCoopers International Limited (PwCIL), placing him at the helm of the global network’s oversight body. The board oversees the PwC Network Leadership Team and enforces governance standards across all member firms.
With a PwC career spanning over three decades, di Paola has held senior leadership roles in the UK, Belgium, and Switzerland. He became a partner in Belgium in 2001 and later joined the Swiss partnership in 2007. His longstanding involvement on the Global Board and its Governance and Risk Committees gives him deep familiarity with network operations and regulatory priorities.
PwC Global Chairman Mohamed Kande praised di Paola’s “network centricity” and international insight, while also thanking outgoing chair Lisa Sawicki for guiding the firm through a time of intense global change. Di Paola, a Cambridge-educated lawyer and UK Chartered Accountant, is expected to play a pivotal role in steering PwC’s global strategy during a period of rapid evolution in professional services.
