RKL LLP has announced that former COO Mike De Stefano will succeed Ed Monborne as CEO from 1 September 2026. Rachel Sargent, ex-RKL auditor and former CFO at a lubricant sales firm, has also returned to RKL, where she will serve as COO, reflecting RKL's focus on operational excellence and client service.
RKL LLP has announced a planned leadership transition that will see former COO Mike De Stefano elected CEO effective September 1, 2026. He will succeed Ed Monborne, who has led the firm for 15 years and overseen its transformation from a regional accounting firm to a national advisory practice with global reach.
De Stefano, elected CEO by the firm’s partners, began his career at RKL before returning in 2019 as CFO and later serving as COO. His leadership in strategy and operations has played a key role in strengthening the firm’s growth trajectory. Monborne praised De Stefano’s impact, noting his confidence in the firm’s continued success under new leadership.
Rachel Sargent has also joined RKL as COO, effective August. A former RKL auditor, Sargent returns to the firm after holding finance leadership roles, including CFO and vice president of finance and integration at a lubricant sales and distribution company. Her appointment underscores RKL’s commitment to operational excellence and client service as the firm enters its next phase of growth.
