Pennsylvania-based accounting firm Trout CPA has announced Robert Firely as its newest partner. With over three decades of experience in financial services including audit, accounting, M&A, and financial strategy, Firely’s addition is expected to strengthen the firm's client services capabilities and strategic competency.
Trout CPA, a certified public accounting firm based in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, has announced the admission of Robert Firely as a partner, effective January 6, 2025. With over 30 years of experience in financial services, Firely brings expertise in audit, accounting, mergers and acquisitions, and financial strategy. His leadership is expected to enhance the firm's ability to provide exceptional service to clients, assisting them in achieving success in their businesses and organizations.
Professional Background
Before joining Trout CPA, Firely served as the Senior Vice President at a regional investment banking firm, specializing in business sales, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate advisory services. He also held the positions of Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) at Triose, Inc., playing a critical role in the company's successful acquisition by Cencora (formerly AmerisourceBergen) in 2021. Additionally, Firely was a partner at a regional public accounting firm, leading the Audit and Accounting group for over 15 years, where he managed compliance, team education, and engagement performance, overseeing a significant client portfolio, including complex M&A engagements.
Community Involvement
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Firely demonstrates a strong commitment to his community and profession, serving on various community and civic boards, including the United Way of Berks County, Berks County Industrial Development Authority, Penn State Health St. Joseph Hospital, Family Guidance Center, and Helping Harvest. He has also served as the President of the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants and Chairman of the Board of the Greater Reading Chamber of Commerce.
Education and Personal Interests
Firely is a graduate of Penn State University with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting. He continues to pursue professional development through ongoing education to stay at the forefront of industry best practices. He is a certified public accountant (CPA) and certified global management accountant (CGMA). Outside of work, Firely enjoys staying active with travel and visiting the beach, as well as spending quality time with his family.
