Houston-based accounting firm Weaver has hired Nicholas Markey as a partner to lead the launch of its new office in Boston's Back Bay, a significant move in its East Coast expansion strategy. Markey, formerly of a Big 4 firm and with over a decade of expertise in auditing and investment management, will oversee operations and drive growth in the Northeast region.
Houston-based firm Weaver has announced that Nicholas (Nick) Markey has joined the firm as a partner in its Audit – Financial Services practice and will lead the launch of its new Boston office, marking a key step in the firm’s East Coast expansion.
Located at 501 Boylston Street in Boston’s Back Bay, the new office reflects Weaver’s strategic commitment to serving clients and attracting top talent across the Northeast. As executive partner, Markey will oversee local operations and spearhead the firm’s growth in the region.
“Opening an office in Boston represents a natural progression in our firm’s national growth strategy,” said John Mackel, CEO and managing partner. “The city’s financial and geographic significance within the Northeast makes it an ideal hub for our expanding national platform.”
Markey brings over a decade of public accounting experience, with expertise in auditing complex financial instruments, private equity investments, and investment management entities. He joins Weaver from a Big 4 firm, where he led major audit engagements and played a pivotal role in business development and team leadership.
