Wheeler Accountants Promotes Nick Satterfield to Partner

Wheeler Accountants of San Jose, Calif., has announced the promotion of Nick Satterfield to partner, effective July 1. With this appointment, the firm’s partner group expands to eight and marks a significant career milestone for Satterfield Wheeler’s first partner to rise through the ranks beginning as an intern.

Satterfield joined the firm full-time in 2015 after earning a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Santa Clara University. He went on to earn his CPA license and completed a Master of Science in Taxation at Golden Gate University in 2020. Over the past decade, he has become a key contributor to Wheeler’s tax practice, advising clients across areas such as equity compensation, real estate investments, and retirement planning.

Most recently serving as a senior tax manager, Satterfield has been recognized for his technical expertise, client relationships, and leadership in business development. “Nick is our third ‘home-grown’ partner, and the very first to rise to this distinction starting out as an intern over a decade ago,” noted Matt Wheeler, Managing Partner. “Over the past year in particular, Nick has truly stepped into the role of trusted advisor.”

Wheeler highlighted Satterfield’s role in advancing both client service and internal initiatives. “He exemplifies the attributes we define as essential to partnership at our firm, and his leadership in business growth and team success has been exceptional,” Wheeler said.
