Accounting firm Forvis Mazars has launched two new international desks, the Chinese Desk and the Japanese Desk, to improve services for U.S. multinational enterprises with business interests in these countries. The desks aim to offer locally tailored services, efficient cross-border coordination and improved understanding of local regulations, following the model of the firm's earlier-introduced German and French Desks.
Top 10 accounting firm Forvis Mazars has announced the launch of two new international desks aimed at enhancing services for U.S. multinational enterprises with business interests in China and Japan. These desks, known as the Chinese Desk and Japanese Desk, provide a dedicated point of contact to improve coordination between the firm's U.S. teams and those located in these countries. The initiative is part of Forvis Mazars' strategy to offer tailored local solutions and an international perspective through its audit, tax, and advisory professionals.
The establishment of these desks follows the earlier introduction of the firm's German and French Desks, which also focus on culturally aware support and coordinated cross-border services for multinational clients. The international desk leaders in the U.S. are well-versed in the challenges faced by multinational enterprises (MNEs) as they navigate cross-border operations. Forvis Mazars emphasizes that these desks are designed to help clients understand the services available to them as they pursue global growth.
Michael Coletti, partner and global business leader for Forvis Mazars US, stated, "As we continue to expand the Forvis Mazars Global network and brand, we are doubling down on our commitment to provide an unmatched client experience to multinational companies." He highlighted that the international desks offer clients efficient access to professionals fluent in the language, cultural norms, and local regulations of the countries where they operate.
The Chinese Desk is led by Howard Hong, an assurance partner with two decades of experience. A native of China, Hong is fluent in both Mandarin and Cantonese. He is joined by Allen Wong, who will advance to partner effective June 1. The Japanese Desk is headed by Kaz Hatanaka, an assurance director with over 15 years of experience. Hatanaka, a native of Japan, is fluent in both Japanese and English and joined Forvis Mazars in 2025.
