Professional services network PwC has partnered with financial tech firm Stripe to assist organizations with agentic commerce, where AI agents discover and purchase products on behalf of consumers. As part of the collaboration, PwC will help businesses adopt the Agentic Commerce Protocol, which supports secure transactions between AI agents and merchants, marking PwC's continued focus on helping organizations adapt to the changing digital commerce landscape.
PwC has announced a strategic collaboration with Stripe to help organizations prepare for agentic commerce, an emerging model in which AI agents discover products, make decisions, and complete transactions on behalf of consumers. The collaboration aligns with Stripe’s launch of new products supporting agent driven commerce, introduced at its New York product showcase.
As part of the collaboration, PwC will work with Stripe to help businesses adopt the Agentic Commerce Protocol, an open standard developed to support secure and seamless transactions between AI agents and merchants. PwC was selected as an early system integration collaborator and will advise clients on testing use cases, modernizing commerce architectures, and preparing data, operations, and payment systems for AI first transactions.
PwC’s Consumer Markets and Technology Consulting teams will support organizations in becoming discoverable and ready for agent led interactions by focusing on structured data, machine readable content, and integrated technology platforms. This includes aligning product and consumer data across systems, optimizing content for AI driven discovery, and connecting loyalty, identity, and payment infrastructures.
The collaboration builds on PwC’s broader capabilities spanning customer strategy, operations, data modernization, and responsible AI governance. Stripe’s payment infrastructure and agentic commerce tools, combined with PwC’s advisory and implementation expertise, are intended to help businesses move from experimentation to scalable deployment.
PwC stated that the collaboration reflects its continued focus on helping organizations adapt to changing digital commerce models as AI reshapes how consumers discover and purchase products.
