PYA Launches International Tax Service Line Under the Leadership of Joe Engel

PYA, a Knoxville, Tennessee-based accounting and advisory firm, has announced the establishment of a new International Tax service line, marking a significant component of the firm's growth strategy. This initiative will be led by Joe Engel, who joins PYA as Tax Principal. Engel previously served as Senior Tax Counsel at The Coca-Cola Company.
The newly formed International Tax service line aims to assist clients in managing global operations by developing and implementing effective tax strategies that adhere to complex international regulations. The PYA team will also support clients in navigating cross-border transactions, ensuring compliance with international tax laws, and optimizing tax positions.
Joe Engel brings over 25 years of experience in international tax strategies, including cross-border tax planning, mergers and acquisitions structuring, incentive negotiations, tax audit defense, legislative tax monitoring, and tax rate management. His extensive knowledge and leadership are expected to enhance PYA's capabilities in serving clients with international tax needs.
Marty Brown, PYA's President and CEO, emphasized the firm's commitment to responding to clients' evolving needs in the global economy, stating, "PYA is known for its ability to nimbly respond to our clients’ needs—and in today’s fast-paced global economy, clients are increasingly in search of experienced and reliable consultants who can help them manage complex cross-border business operations."
