High-profile aircraft owners including Jeff Bezos, Rihanna, Stan Kroenke and Phil Knight have received substantial county property tax bills in Los Angeles County due to a new aircraft discovery program. The program initiated by the county in January 2026 identified almost 1,000 previously unassessed aircraft and brought in approximately $2.5 billion in previous-year assessments and over $1 billion in new assessments for 2026.
