Aanand Shukla of Jonestown, Texas, has been sentenced to five years in federal prison after pleading guilty to conspiracy to defraud the United States. From 2017 through 2025, Shukla promoted and utilised a trust tax shelter, disguising ownership and income of business owners, and concealing over $27 million in income, causing over $8.7 million in federal tax losses.
