Activist investor Starboard Value has acquired a $1 billion stake in pharmaceutical giant Pfizer, with the intention of improving the company's performance post-pandemic. Pfizer's stock has fallen over 50% since its pandemic height, mainly attributed to the decrease in demand for its COVID-19 products after the pandemic's peak, and the move by Starboard aims at bringing fresh ideas and potential new leadership to revitalize the veteran company.
