EY and Microsoft have announced a significant expansion of their partnership, committing over $1 billion over the next five years to drive enterprise AI transformation. This initiative will leverage EY's role as 'client zero', piloting Microsoft technologies internally to enhance AI implementation across various sectors.
The collaboration will involve Microsoft's Forward Deployed Engineers (FDE) and EY's industry teams working together to accelerate AI adoption. The focus will be on using Microsoft's FDE AI-native Hypervelocity Engineering model to integrate AI into clients' change and delivery structures, aiming to transform them into 'frontier firms'.
EY Global Chair and CEO Janet Truncale emphasized the transformative potential of this alliance, highlighting the rapid deployment of AI at scale. EY has already rolled out Copilot to 150,000 users, reporting a 15% productivity increase, and plans to expand this to over 400,000 users globally. The initiative also includes modernizing finance processes and deploying AI tools across EY's operations.
Microsoft Commercial Business CEO Judson Althoff noted the combination of Microsoft's trusted AI platform with EY's industry expertise as a key factor in moving beyond pilot projects to enterprise execution. The joint services will initially target finance, tax, risk, human resources, and supply chain functions across various sectors, including financial services, industrials, and healthcare.
Until next time…
