The Biden administration is reportedly planning to ban Chinese-developed technology from all connected and autonomous vehicles in the US over national security concerns. The proposed ban, which could go into effect as early as 2027 for software and 2030 for hardware, would have a wide-ranging impact on the automotive industry and forms part of broader efforts to counter Chinese influence in US technology sectors.
